I discovered Yoga as a teenager and have loved it ever since. I first attended
yoga classes in 1986, since when I have attended regular classes and numerous
short courses/workshops/in-service training days.
From 1996-1998 I trained as a teacher with Friends of Yoga (FRYOG) in Warwickshire,
achieving a grade of Excellent.
I began teaching in September 1998, setting up classes at Clapham Terrace
School which continue today. I have also taught a wide range of people in
other settings, including health club members, secondary school girls, six
year olds, a group of older women, and staff members in a large local company.
I have offered one-off sessions for community groups and staff training days,
and have also taught a number of people on a one-to-one basis.
In February 2007 I gained a BSc in Adult Nursing and now work part time as
a registered nurse, as well as teaching Yoga. Training and working as a nurse
has greatly increased my understanding of health and wellbeing and enhanced
my skills as a Yoga Teacher. In 2009 I was awarded the Birthlight Diploma
in Perinatal Yoga.
