Each year we invite campaigning groups to give 3 minute "Peace Talks" from the stage between acts. Why not have a go yourself? Contact: mail@peacefestival.org.uk

If you could get people to do ONE THING to create a more peaceful world - what would it be?

Leamington Peace Festival is looking for campaigners & charities to do short talks between acts on this topic during the festival weekend in June.
The talks should only be 3 minutes long but we hope they will have a much longer lasting impact on the audience.

If you would like to book a talk slot, or have a suggestion for a topic you'd like us to try and find a speaker on, please contact us on info@peacefestival.org.uk, leave a message on 0845 388 4207 or write to us at PO Box 1686, Leamington, CV31 1WS.

Peace Talks Guidelines

Every year we give campaigning & charity groups a chance to get their message across to festival goers by giving a short talk between the bands on both stages.

They are all themed under one title:

One thing YOU can do for Peace this week.....

This gives lots of scope for subjects and hopefully will encourage the audience to become more active in the particular campaigns that interest them by giving them an easy way in.

It's a great opportunity to publicise a cause, and its really not that scary! As we're a free festival we can't pay anything but we will provide vouchers for a drink at the festival.

The talks should be about 3mins long, we have 1 microphone available but to help get the audiences attention and promote the message, we suggest that a small group of campaigners go on the stage, preferably underlining the message with slogans, banners, or charity t-shirts. Other volunteers could also go around the audience with petitions or handing out flyers (but only to those interested - we don't want to cause any litter!) whilst the talk is taking place. (Note, this is only allowed during the talk timeslot.)

The talks will be advertised in the FREE programme and on the website so the title should be short & catchy & we can put a link so people can find out more information.
